About

604 Foodtography was started in February 2009.
It’s a combination of two major passions in my life, food and photography.

I’m Taiwanese, I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica and I live in Vancouver.

Ooo stinky.

I’ve taken foods all through highschool. I thought it was such a great class since I got to have two lunches at school most of the time. My first job was a line cook at White Spot, and I currently (as of Oct 2011) work as a line cook elsewhere. Suffice to say, I know a little something about the intricacies and workings of the food industry.

I started with photography in my last couple years of highschool, and it’s been my escape and therapy ever since. Photography has allowed my creative side to flourish, brought about new opportunities and forever changed the way I view the world I live in.

Strangely enough though, culinary nor photography is not what I am pursuing as a career. I am currently a Intern Massage Therapist, a.k.a. Student RMT. I guess I just have to keep my hands busy, always working on something, be it a body, frying pan or a camera.

Feel free to contact me at 604foodtography [at] gmail.com for any questions, suggestions, events or just to say you love me.

have you been to tandoori raj indian restaurant.

Nope, though I’ve passed by it a bunch of times. I admit, Indian food isn’t very high on my “want to eat list” simply because I’m intimidated and not sure of what to expect either.

kevin – your blog is great and fun to read :)

if you like mexican food, these are really good…
    - the mulitas with grilled steak at don guacamole’s
    - the chile rellenos at las margaritas

and if you’re ever in los angeles…
    - the blackjack quesadilla at kogi bbq

      Thank you thank you.
Don Guacamole’s does seem to be touted as authentic mexican, but the only downside is they have the “downtown” tax and pricing.. oh well.
Las Margaritas I’ve avoided before because it just seems to touristy/kitschy, but if there’s Chile Rellenos to be had…I’m game.

    Hi Kevin,

Just wanted to say that you have a wonderful blog that’s easy and fun to read. I’m actually curious how you’re able to try a lot of restaurants. Do you try them for free? Or get awesome deals?

Looking forward to try some of the restaurants that you’ve blogged about.

    Keep it up!
    Tim

Hi Tim, thanks for the kind words.
Well, seeing as how I’ve almost reached 3 years with this blog… that’s a lot of restaurants.
If I don’t say it was a media event or a complimentary meal, then I paid for the meals myself. No awesome deals or discounts, either full price or nothing. :)

      Thanks !
