Scoop!, Vancouver, BC

I’m back! Well..back to reality…and a backlog of entries as well..dating back to May 28th! Oh man..combined with school starting next week, it’ll be a long while before I even touch what I did this summer in Asia (which by the way, bessssst trip. Slowly but surely I will be getting through to everything though…just give me time.

Alright, starting where I left off after Yuji’s. Walked across the street to Scoop! for some more dessert. Since the whole frozen yogurt craze took over Vancouver, and even more so since Qoola made a big splash in the industry, there’s been many places to choose from.  Shortly after Qoola’s opening, I got some recommendations to try out Scoop but its’ location always was a bit of a deterrent, not to mention the times that I did manage to pass by they weren’t open!

What I noticed first upon entering was that the the entire layout and decoration was sparse but clean and modern. There’s also lots of pink all over.

Pick what kind of flavour and size frozen yogurt and the staff will weigh it first. They’ll then hand it back to you and you can pick and choose from over 30 toppings. When you’re done, they weigh it again for how much toppings and then you pay the total price of yogurt size+topping total weight.

I only wanted mochis and so I left the toppings to her instead. She ended up getting some fresh mangoes, gummy bears and of course my mochis. All on top of a mango flavour frozen yogurt.

To me, it was just another frozen yogurt. Can’t say it was the best I’ve had, can’t say it was the worst. The only thing that stood out for me was the freedom to choose exactly how MUCH of a topping you want, which is pretty damned important I suppose..

hehe, those mangoes, believe it or not, are fresh! We buy our fruits from the grocery stores few times every week and cut them up ourselves.

Hopefully you liked our mochi, we have different flavors for sale too if you didn’t see!

and glad your back up and blogging! missed your reviews!

      Hi Mike!

I assume you are either one of the owners or a staff that works there. Thanks for clarifying, I’ll change it. Glad to hear that it’s fresh. :)
I did like the mochi.. where do you get them from or are they made in house? That would be mighty impressive,.
Thanks, getting back into the swing of things is a little difficult after vacation. It’s like coming back to a full time job. :(
