Honestly, there is no shortage of HK Style Cafe‘s in Metro Vancouver. I don’t think I’ve heard or seen all of them, and it’s even more unlikely that I will eat at all of them either. One can try though right?
Sounds like a formidable challenge.. Ed, do you want to try?The windows are tinted and frosted so from the outside, one has no idea of what goes on in there or to expect. Once you walk through the doors though, you’re greeted to a, surprisingly, very clean and modern interior. Surprising because this is not something one comes to expect from a Chinese restaurant!
Even the menus are fannnncy. There’s a lot of options to choose from, so I just went with something comfortable.. curry.
Each curry set meal comes with soup, bread, salad, steamed rice or spaghetti and a drink. You just pick what kind of meat you want, I had beef slices while my mom got chicken steak.
Borscht soup and cream soup. I’m more partial to cream soup, though I’m realizing that it’s not that great and really simple. The borscht soup at least offers more substance and is healthier!
Warm bun and buttaaaaa. Exciting, I know.
Hey this looks pretty good… nice crispy fried chicken steak, green salad with a creamy italian dressing and a big bowl of curry. It was good too, must remember to always trust my mom when it comes to food.
Mine wasn’t as impressive but there was a lot of beef in here though. Same with the curry though, I would say about 40% of this bowl was just curry sauce.. the rest would be a mix of potatoes, onions and beef slices.
Andddddd to close off…a typical hot milk tea.
For $11 for the entire meal.. it’s pricier than other places. That’s really the only reason that would keep me from coming here regularly, the service was very attentive, portions were generous and food was good.
