This is waaaay out of my usual chronological order of posting, but it’s time sensitive so it’s going up now!
So, the McDonalds at Knight & 57th Ave in Vancouver recently finished their renovations, and to bring in some traffic, they’ve been holding week long specials.
This is the last special they’re running, $1.99 Happy Meals, only until December 20th. I had dropped by last week to get some $0.69 Cheeseburgers after school, and I saw a table that had 10 wrappers..in all 4 seats! That kind of stuff just makes my stomach queasy. I ate 3 and was feeling kind of blah.
Although I had no problems ordering the cheeseburgers last week, I was a little more hesitant to order the Happy Meal. Afterall, it’s usually for kids, right? Then again, who says you can put an age limit on happiness? Before going to work tonight, I made a pit stop and ordered two happy meals.
A breakdown of what I ordered.
- 1 Cheeseburger
- 4 Chicken MgNuggets
- 2 Small Fries (actually, I was supposed to get only 1 small fries, but she gave me two by accident I guess)
- 1 Orange Juice
- 1 Apple Juice
- 1 Apple Slices
- 0 Toys
All this for only $4.31. To get the most “value” out of this special, I would say order the Chicken McNuggets because they normally cost more than $4, but you can now get it for HALF the price!
I gobbled down the cheeseburger, rinsed it down with the orange juice, and packed the rest up because I didn’t want to miss my bus.
While in transit, I munched on my fries & McNuggets. This kept me going through work, and so I left the Apple slices and juice for later.
I could complain that I didn’t receive my toys and that I was charged PST on it for a grand total of $0.13, but whatever, it just means they have a surplus of toys to hand out to kids. They were Avatar toys anyways, so nothing I’m interested in. Now if they were Hot Wheels, that would be a different story…
So Vancouver, when’s the last time you had a Happy Meal? Don’t you think you should treat yourself to one?
