Columbus Restaurant

Sure has been a while since I put up an actual restaurant post.  I’ve been focusing more on the social aspect that food blogging can bring to ones life, and it’s been pretty awesome.

Annnnywayss….went to Columbus Restaurant a couple weeks ago with my dad for dinner before dodgeball. I always see it when I go to Killarney Market. Speaking of the Killarney Market, Michael Bublé filmed the music video for his new single, “Haven’t Met You Yet” there!

There’s your daily entertainment news from me.. back to the post. Columbus is located in the North East corner of this plaza.

The decor, which looks like something out of the 70′s, probably hasn’t changed much since the restaurant first opened. Coincindentally, the restaurant opened in 1972!

A quick browse through the menu, and my dad got the Roast Lamb. I think this is why I always gravitate towards Lamb Burgers or Roast Lamb, is because I’m used to my parents ordering it. That and I just really like the taste of it..

After my dad placed his order, I was really torn. I too, had my heart set on the Roast Lamb, but as it would be a total no-no for blogging purposes, I went with their special of the day, a 6oz Steak w/ Spaghetti & Garlic Bread (last picture). What’s the point of having two people order the same thing at a restaurant when I can maximize it and have TWO different meals to take pictures of and talk about? That’s right, there is no point. Maximize & efficiency!
…Back to the food.

The steak was cooked medium rare, like I requested. It had a nice chunk of fat still attached to one edge, and was perfectly charred. The pasta sauce was just basic meat sauce with spaghetti, and was slightly watery. That was fine by me, as I just used up my huge honking piece of garlic bread to clean up my plate.

Though it didn’t seem like a lot of food when I was eating, by the time I got to dodgeball, it must have all expanded in my stomach because I certainly was feeling a little slower and sluggish on the courts! Must have been the bread.

Next time, I want to try their pizza because Kevin says that’s one of his favorite places to order from. Would it compare to Ah-Beetz? Probably not, but I’m looking forward to see if it can compare against the late night kings of pizza, Pizza Garden & Uncle Fatihs.

I have passed by that place a couple of times but haven’t enticed me to visit it. Instead, I would go to the Chinese pork restaurant on the northwestern corner of the same mall. Then again, that’s me…
