Food and photography in Vancouver, BC
I forget what I had for lunch the second day of the Kelowna Dragon Boat Festival, but I do remember dinner. Dinner the day before was really good…!
We planned to go to Olive Garden but were thwarted by an hour wait for our group of 15. Hungry and not wanting to come home late, we walked over to Montana’s Cookhouse. We were enticed by promises of all you can eat ribs…unfortunately that’s for Wednesdays only. Actually, I can’t find it on their site but on location they have it on the little menu things on the tables.
All of their ribs are grilled with your choice of sauce, Texas Bold, Apple Butter or Honey Garlic. Since we weren’t sure of what they tasted like, the waitress brought out a small plate with the three sauces for us to sample. I believe it was Tri that described Apple Butter as “a buttery apple flavor“….HAHAHA.

I myself had the Ribs & Wings Combo, “Signature hickory smoked pork ribs paired with double-dusted chicken wings, with your choice of rib and wing sauce.” choosing Apple Butter for my ribs and Spicy Hot for my wings. For my side I chose a baked potato and the cornbread is included with. First glance, it didn’t seem like a lot of food, but I was really hitting a wall near the end and struggled to finish the last couple of ribs and wings. The preparation of the potato threw me off, I’ve never seen it salted on the outside, but I ate it skin and all still. Cornbread was really sweet and dense, my ribs were juicy and literally fell off the ribs, and my wings were stupidly hot. =(
For a Sunday night, the place was empty and I believe we were the only people in there. Everyone else was probably over at Olive Garden, that’s why. Since we sat at a long table, I didn’t get up to take pictures of the other food except a couple near me. Below is the Beef Short Ribs and the Chipotle Buffalo Chicken Burger.

Too bad you weren’t there on a Wednesday… However, there is only that many ribs you can eat anyways. I don’t find I ever eat that much really.

oh, you should totally try Ozarks in Langley on Fraser and Route 10. I was totally craving BBQ and had my eye on this place for quite some time… I was pleasantly surprised by the food…especially how juicy and flavorful the pulled pork is! And the ribs, I hear are extremely juicy, too! I believe Sunday’s are their all-you-can-eat ribs night

Hey Jenn,
That’ll have to be a road trip…perhaps Olive Garden for lunch & then ribs to finish off the night….
