Hi everyone! School is back in session, and I’m busier than ever with a full time 40 hr week of school. As such, I will be eating out much less and in turn will be blogging much less. Anyways, let’s go back a couple weeks. If you follow me on Twitter (and if you’re not, you should!) you’ll know that I had my wisdom teeth out last week. Well, since my appointment was at 6pm, I decided I would have a good happy day before the surgery. So I went to TBC Indoor Go-Karting and Green Lemongrass for my “last meal”.
It was a nice day, so we sat outside on their covered patio. Win win, it’s nice and warm outside and I had good lighting for taking pictures. Right off the bat, the attention to service and little details here is very noticeable, from the nice teapot above and the lime in the water.
Daniel and Kevin both ordered spring rolls, and they looked delicious. I was tempted to steal one, but I had already ordered quite a bit of food for myself. Remember, this would be my last meal of the day, since I would not be able to eat dinner later!
My Pork Brochette and Spring Roll Vermicelli Bowl. The pork had the texture of a meatball, but the taste was very distinct, kind of like a tangy bbq sauce. The spring rolls were a little smaller in girth than other places, but I found they were more tightly packed with ingredients. Maybe it was just me, who knows? Of course it came with the fish sauce for dipping/pouring, whatever you want to do. The veggies behind the spring rolls include daikon, carrot and beansprouts. Plenty of noodles in the bowl, but I gobbled it all up.
Since I wanted to make sure I filled up on food, I also ordered a banh mi. I believe I got the house special, aka everything. It has cha siu, roasted red peppers, cucumber, pate, mayo, ham, and the typical vegetables, cilantro, daikon, carrot. The bread had a very crunchy crust but really soft inside. I also had an avocado smoothie which I didn’t take a picture of. So a little recap, 1. vermicelli bowl, 2. banh mi, and 3. smoothie. I think I got all that for less than $18.. !
For this post, even though I went with friends and took picture, I’m only focusing on the stuff I ate since I didn’t sample anyone’s food. You can however look at the pictures below and decide if this place is worth visiting yourself. I would most definitely return, I enjoyed the food and I want to try the lemongrass chicken (last picture) for myself.
