Beefy Beef Noodle

From the same owners of No. 1 Beef Noodle House comes Beefy Beef Noodle, located at Main and King Edward.  This area seems to have some great food places going on (or so I’ve read) such as Zakkushi, Hawker’s Delight, and one that I’ve been to, Zipang Sushi.  Previously the location was a Filipino restaurant that I can’t remember the name of now.

So how does it compare to the self proclaimed No 1 Beef Noodle House? If anything, things should be same as it is the same owner, same recipes, same everything.  So to compare, I ordered myself a Beef Brisket Noodle in Tomato Soup.  The soup was decent, but the noodles were not…and the meat was the same.

My dad had the Beef Brisket and Tendon instead, half half.

Taiwanese style fried vermicelli noodle.

Mixed plate, pigs ear, seaweed and pig intestines.

Mmmm….intestines.

The price is on par with other places of this type, so it’s decent…but I wouldn’t be going out of my way just to eat here I think.

Based on the address, the previous tenant must have been Rekados. Depending on their hours, I might be tempted to drop by in lieu of the Willingdon location – though it is not necessarily easier for me to get there… At least they seem to be doing something right: consistency!

Hi Kevin, the old restaurant there was Rekados. Sadly, I didn’t get a chance to try it before it closed. Once again, they open up their beef noodle house where there is like no parking. They have a theme with that! Mmmm, intestines, I love those!

It used to be Rekados! It’s gone now, [sniffle]. Anyway, We can’t seem to find any place that does those really chewy, seemingly hand-made noodles, all uneven, like at Taiwan Beef Noodle King (or Wang’s, whatever they call themselves now). We’ve actually been here (Beefy) after the change, and will probably go back. Food is decent, and there is ample space for us household of 9!

(P.S. For some reason your blog doesn’t load up on my browser. Basically, all I see is a blank page with the top headers, then some columns on the left, including this comment section. No actual posts.)
