Congee is such a simple food, but it’s very comforting. Along with the craving for fried chicken which was satisfied at L.A. Chicken, I’ve also been wanting some congee. So after ultimate one night, we went to eat.. except we went half an hour before closing (1am that night, I believe). So we felt really rushed and got the vibe that they weren’t happy with the remaining customers.
I got a really popular congee bowl of preserved egg and shredded pork. $5.50.
You have a choice of salty/unsalty shredded pork, and I chose salty. When the bowl came and I mixed it up, I had a huge portion of the pork..so much that I was thinking of ordering a plain congee so I could finish the rest.
Congee Noodle House is great for a late night eat, open till 1am on weekdays..and 2am on the weekends.
