First off, I am VERY behind in posting. Sorry, summer takes precedence over sitting in front of my laptop and churning out posts.
At the start of this month, Colette from Jive Communications asked if I would attend a mini event that was happening at the Cambie Liquor store kitchen. It was a collaboration with Granville Island Brewing and White Spot, both sampling new products, the Island Lager and Sliders respectively. What better than to have the exact quote that was sent to me?
On Saturday, July 4th, Granville Island Brewing and White Spot will be cooking up treats and serving beer at the Cambie Kitchen to raise money for local charities (who are the recipients of fundraising efforts through the World Police and Fire Games).
Anyways, I figured I could drop by and see what it was about. Did you know that the Cambie Liquor store has TASTINGS? Only on Fri/Sat/Sun afternoons, but still I’ve never known a liquor store that would have tastings and samples.
Tried a sample of the new Island Lager, which was just okay to me. I still like the Cypress Honey Lager from GIB the most. By now it should be no surprise that I like beer, and I like GIB beer too (I even did a tour of their brewery!)
Along with the sampling, you could also try your hand at winning little prizes by putting.
Just to the right of the sampling table was the new Sliders from White Spot. Mini versions of the already famous burgers available at White Spot, they were all prepared beforehand and sitting in a warming tray.
Although not fresh and piping hot off the grill, it was still very substantial and messy (which is a good thing!). I personally wouldn’t order the sliders, I’d just get the real deal though!
