E-Canteen

E-Canteen on Urbanspoon

E-Canteen is one of those places I visit somewhat often, but never thought to blog about because there’s nothing really special about it.  After our ultimate game last Tuesday, I figured I might as well bring my camera if we were coming here to eat, just to get an entry out of it. Yes, I’m honest about it.

There are some rooms that seem like they were used for karaoke before. This one had leopard print inside….lol.

Like a lot of typical HongKong style cafes, the prices are fair, and they have a very extensive menu. You can choose from the 1/2/3 item+soup & drink menu, the sizzling plates, curries, fried rice, noodles, snacks, etc.

I don’t have much to say about the food….at least these because I didn’t eat any of them.

Now this is what I got, the 3 item sizzling plate. Mmm so much protein……actually I think I’d like some more vegetables.

While there isn’t anything really special or amazingly good about their food, at least you can count on it being consistent and cheap.

:)
Probably best for a good late night meal when  you don’t want to go for fast food.

MM MM look at all that good wholesome fatty food despite how it looks at first glance. Ever actually check the plates after your meals at HK Cafes? Heart attack waiting to happen.

9 people ordered 6 things to share. After putting in the bill, the manager comes in to force us to order at least 9 things or else, we'd have to leave. Bad service. Do not go there. No Chinese restaurant will ever do that, without stating it on their menu. 0 for service. Ruined the whole nightout for us. All they said was, its' their policy. I've been going to the same restaurant since they opened, and they treat me and my friends like garbage. There were 3 girls that barely eat, so hence, we wanted to share. $2.95 for a drink which we forcefully had to accept.

    0 for service
    2 for value
2 for food/drink – they made it smaller just for us =)

    Piss poor management.

      @ James,

Sorry to hear about your bad experience, I haven’t been back to E-Canteen in a while. :/
