Food and photography in Vancouver, BC
It’s not often that I will go out of my way just to try a restaurant. Okay, I lied.
I regularly plan my trips around restaurants I want to try out, and I even once considered driving out to Cloverdale to try Boonies before they closed for the summer, but no one wanted to go with me. That’s a pet peeve of mine, I don’t like to eat alone, it feels awkward and loner-ish, and there’s no one to talk about it with during/after!
So, really craving a good burger since returning from Costa Rica, I went to Burger Burger on Monday afterschool with Victor and Jeff after reading Sherman’s review.
A little mix up with the exact address, as I thought it was 6th Ave and 4th St, but it was actually 6th St and 4th Ave.
So onto the food. $4.90 total for special A is what I got. Jeff and Victor have more money to spare, so they got the special B.

These are all their specials posted on the window and the bulletin board to the left, but they also have a regular menu.
I’m really curious what the bulkogi and chili burgers are like…just means I’ll have to make another visit to try.

The restaurant is owned by a friendly Korean couple, and here is the husband preparing our burgers.

While we waited for our food, which didn’t take long, we soaked in our surroundings. This sign and a white triptych picture were the only things.

My burger, simple but delicious. The wife brought out some mustard, ketchup, salt, pepper and vinegar for us. Devoured the burger and spent some time finishing the fries because I was getting full already. Hell yes I am coming back, for under $5 you get a homemade burger, plenty of fries and a drink. So much better than any fast food place out there, I promise you.

If you ever want to give it a try, they’re open 10-7 Monday to Friday and 10-6 on Saturdays.
Thanks Sherman for your review!

Although eating with somebody else is always preferable, sometimes, eating alone is the way to go. It feels odd, I know, to ask for a table for one. But, then again, what if you can’t convince people to join you to a dive, shaddy place for a possibly good meal?
With this post, you convinced me to give it a try, hehehehe.

Thanks for the props Kevin! Just like you, I couldn’t believe the value I got with the combo. As I was eating it, I was thinking why I would eat at McD’s or anything like that, if I could get such a good burger and fries at Burger Burger. I will be back too and I noticed they have a salmon burger too now? Nice!

Well, if I’ve convinced my friends to go to Save – On – Meats for a burger….in one of the most shady places in Vancouver, I’m sure they trust me now.
I still need to go to Only Seafood and Ovaltine Cafe..oh and the steak place by Clark and Hastings.

Yep, just as we were finishing, someone came in and ordered a salmon burger. I saw the husband put a nice big salmon steak on the grill.

That sounds great! I’ll have to try it next time I’m in the area. Nothing like a homestyle burger.
