Panda Pearl

Went out to Panda Pearl for their grand opening on March 6th, 2009.

They were giving away free bubbletea if you printed off a coupon. Small little cups reminded me of sundaes at McDonalds.

Free bubbletea.

Free bubbletea.

Wave after wave of students from the nearby Templeton High school kept coming in.

From what I remember, a group of students own this place. Two of them are grads, and the others are still in Gr.12.
This alone leaves me very impressed, it’s nice to see people my age that are ambitious and open businesses.

What are my thoughts on this place?

Well, the prices are fair, $3 for slush/milk tea/red or black tea. Extra for pearls etc like most other places.
I think that they’ll have a good amount of business from their friends, other Templeton students. From what I know, the area also doesn’t have any BBT joints, so there’s no competition. They’ll have to offer more choices than just the regular bbt if they are to stand out though.

Other than that, I’d like to say to the owners of Panda Pearl, congratulations on the grand opening and hope things run smoothly!

Actually, the owners of the place are still at SFU. I was able to have a talk to the “big guy” and was really impressed with his experience. This is just a small step for him.
