Belgian Fries

After Panda Pearl, was feeling a little hungry so Kevin and I decided to stop by Belgian Fries.
They claim to be the “Best Poutine in B.C.” with Award Winning Fries.

Not particularly hungry and wanting to spend too much, we shared a large. It was just under $6 after taxes.

Each order comes with your choice of a dip. There’s a good number of them… Kevin picked the honey mustard and I thought it was kind of bland. Next time I want to try Jamaican Heat.

They have daily specials, one that I noticed that seems to be a good value was a halibut + fries for $9.99. They have burgers, hot dogs, and deep fried sweets.  There are 10 different flavors of poutines and prices range from $6-9, medium and large.

ps. How would I categorize this? Belgian? French (fries)? American ’cause they love fries? I need to rethink my categories…

So were the fries crispy? I love French fries. In fact, they are my favourite food. Yah go figure, fried potatoes my favourite food over say… lobster… Anyways, was it worth the price? $6 is a bit steep for fries.

I’m with Sherman, six bucks for that amount of fries seems pricey, but perhaps your photo is not really showing the true volume of it all…

maybe you should have put your fist beside the cone of fries for comparison. but having just recently(today) been to Fritz European Fry House, which serve pretty much the same size cones, a large is quite a serving for one person.
yes, it is ridiculous paying that much for fries. mmm what guilty pleasures.

I’ve always wanted to try this place!

I love this place!!! When I went to Montreal last year, most of the poutines that I ate there sucked. The only place that I found in Montreal that was amazing was called La Banquise.

It is a bit pricey there, but well worth it with the size of the poutines and how much cheese curds that they give you.

Crispy fries, nice and fluffy inside. The large is a lot of fries. I would not be able to finish it by myself, nor would I want to try.

    Hi Johnners!

First of all, thanks for leaving comments. Means a lot to me.

That’s very true, I forgot about something to show a comparison in size. It’s big, and I wouldn’t want to finish a large.

Yea, it also is quite ridiculous to pay $6 for fries, especially since I want to eat healthy and all..so definitely a guilty pleasure.

    They’re open 11am-10pm everyday. :)

You went to Montreal, where poutine is internationally recognized…and none of them were good?!

La Banquise was the only poutine joint that was comparable to Belgian Fries. One place I went to used an olive as a decoration … the fries were very soggy and just gross.
