No. 1 Beef Noodle House2

Finally, went to No1 Beef Noodle House for dinner.
I got my usual beef noodle in tomato soup, so no picture of that.

Appetizers, plate of 3. Left to right, beef tripe, beef intestines, and pigs ear.

Deep fried fish fillet with spicy…I forgot.

Xiao long baos. Disappointing, not very soupy at all.

These were great like usual. Wontons in chili oil sauce. [order comes with 10, at about $6~]

For 5 guys, this is how much we ordered. Appetizers, dimsum, entree, drink…and take out drink. Wow!

I knew they had an extensive menu there, but had no idea they had XLB. Though from what you say/show, looks like its not worth bothering with. Have you been out to Chen’s Shanghai (http://foodosophy.wordpress.com/2008/06/20/chens-shanghai-restaurant-richmond-bc/), they make a pretty good XLB, with plenty of soup!

The menu is huge! About a third of it is for drinks too.
Never been to Chen’s or heard of it before. Worth a try someday.
I know my mom used to bring me to this little restaurant in a strip mall across Richmond Center…guess what happened to it?
It became Shanghai Wonderful!

Oh yea it is.. haha. We had a meal budget and it was gonna be paid for that’s why we went all out. Lots of appetizers, one meal and TWO drinks per person.. heh.
